Free Cell Phones

Seriously? How can a cell phone be free? Why would anyone give you a cell phone for nothing.

Turns out – they wont.

Free Cell Phones are really only free when you commit to paying $39.99 (or some similar monthly fee) to a company like AT&T Wireless (Remember Cingular?) Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint or Nextel.

Basically if you are willing to fork over $900+ to the carrier over the next 24 months – they’ll give you a phone – nice guys…

Do the math and figure out if its really a good deal.

Nokia Cell Phones are hot!

Nokia N70 is part of the Nokia Nseries high performance multimedia range Amsterdam, Cancun, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur – Nokia today introduced the Nokia N70 multimedia, a beautifully designed, compact and easy-to-use 3G smartphone with versatile mobile photography, personal productivity and entertainment features. Incorporating a complete smartphone feature set, as well as a 2 megapixel camera, flash and front camera for video calling, the Nokia N70 comes fully equipped with stereo FM radio, a digital music player and new 3D games. “The Nokia N70 perfectly illustrates our commitment to offer powerful, all-inclusive handsets that aid people in their daily lives. In addition to advanced smartphone and entertainment features, mobile photography is extremely easy and enjoyable with the elegant Nokia N70,” said Joe Coles, Director of imaging product marketing at Nokia. “The number one reason why people today purchase new handsets is the camera. Indeed, we foresee that by the end of 2005, over half a billion people worldwide will own a camera phone.”

Symbian Cell Phones Attacked by Virus!

Gavno.a And Gavno.b Attack Symbian By Abul Hussain The first malware virus has been identified by SimWorks to be harmful to Symbian handsets, which is able to cause cell phones making phone calls. The virus Gavno.a is spread via an unofficial “patch.sis” file.

“The Gavno trojan disables a phone by using a a malformed file to crash an internal Symbian OS process. A similar technique was used by the SEXXXY trojan identified by SimWorks in December, however in the case of SEXXXY only a single button was disabled, not the entire phone. It is unclear whether there is any connection between the author of SEXXXY and the author of Gavno”, says Davidson.

Users should download and install official updates and patches for their Symian phones. Gavno affects Series 60 phones using Symbian OS 7.x, such as the Nokia 6600 and 7610, but does as of yet not affect UIQ based Symbian OS devices such as the popular Sony Ericsson P900/910 and Motorola A925/1000, nor Series 60 based smartphones using Symbian OS 6.x such as the Nokia 3650 or Siemens SX1.
